RESEARCH PROFILE

Research for safer, smarter learning.

My research interests connect cybersecurity, educational technology, and human-centered design. I am particularly interested in the decisions learners make when digital risks meet real-world pressure.

CURRENT RESEARCH DIRECTION

Between Two Worlds

Examining the Cybersecurity Awareness–Behavior Gap Among Transition-Age Students and implications for AI-adaptive education.

Transition-age learners increasingly manage their own accounts, devices, money, social relationships, and educational lives. The project investigates why cybersecurity knowledge does not always lead to protective action, and how adaptive learning experiences might better support safer decisions.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS

From understanding a gap to designing a response.

01 / UNDERSTAND

Knowledge and behavior

When do learners fail to translate awareness of threats into protective choices, reporting, or help-seeking?

02 / DESIGN

Learning that adapts

How might learning scenarios respond to different levels of knowledge, confidence, and decision-making patterns?

03 / EVALUATE

Meaningful outcomes

How can a training intervention be evaluated for usability, learning, and behavior-related outcomes?

METHOD & DEVELOPMENT

A practical, iterative research pathway.

The planned direction follows an iterative Design Science Research approach. Specific methods and findings should be updated as the study progresses.

PHASE 01

Understand the context

Review literature, characterize learner needs, and analyze awareness–behavior gaps in relevant digital-risk scenarios.

PHASE 02

Design and build

Develop an educational artifact with scenario-based learning and adaptation informed by learner needs.

PHASE 03

Pilot and evaluate

Assess usability and learning-related outcomes, refine the design, and report limitations transparently.

Research integrity: This page describes a research direction, not a claim that a complete adaptive platform has already been deployed or validated. Add published findings, ethics approvals, and public artifacts when ready.
